FOP and Metro Government at odds over take home police cars

The take home car program is a waste of tax payer's money; and it is a joke; no one should be able to use city property for there own use; and then to get on here and cry about sixty dollar's; only make's you people look the bigger fool than you already are.

I must say this has been an very helpful to me so I can be more informed on why the take home program first started. I see officer can use these cars for any reason they choose. Let me first say I hope our Metro Government has and contuies to put enough police on the street that will protect the citizen at all times. I hope they pay these Policeman a fair wage that they can support their families on.

I must say some parts of this program I do not agree with. I do not agree with any unmarked cars being used in this program at all. If it was meant to show a police present then unmarked cars do not show a police present. I do not think cars should be given to anyone that lives outside of the Metro area. The governments for those towns should have there on take home car programs. I do not believe a Policeman should be able to make a profit from these take home cars without reimbursement to Metro. As far as family members riding in these cars its hard to me to believe someone would put their family in danger for a take home care. I can not see a situation where a policeman would have a high speed chase with there family member in the car. or a pull over where someone might have a gun. Would love to hear some feedback on this
