FOP and Metro Government at odds over take home police cars

Paying taxes on the cars isn't a city "choice" - it is an IRS issue. And the IRS clearly states that marked police cars aren't taxable. However, I wonder, someone needs to ask their accountant, if you have to pay this fee in order to work off-duty, does it because a deductable expenses?
