Police, fire recruits are on hold. Budget squeeze delays training.

Has anyone heard that the in-service class scheduled for this year is not ready because of computer shortages and instructors not prepared to teach?

OK, first off the new rumor is the 2 lateral classes have been canceled for this fiscal year. The mayor is keeping that under the radar only refering to the recruit classes.

As for the instructors they are busy all day long weather they have a class or not. They prepair for the new classes coming in and have to update material. Once the material is updated they have to give it to KLEC for approval. They are also working on new classes to present. I do know that a couple of them go into different divisions and ride when they have time to stay current with what is going on on the street.
