I hate to say it, but the mayor's plan seems to be mirroring that of other major cities. Places like Chicago, NYC, Philadelphia, New Orleans, all of them need more officers on the street. And of course, despite staggering crime rates and other public nuisance / quality-of-life issues, the money is sent elsewhere. But despite all bad things, at least Louisville doesn't have a municipal residence requirement or a mandatory double-shift requirement. I'm all for police keeping their benefits and increasing
