Wait a minute, two weeks ago in a Channel 32 news story, a rep from the chiefs office stated that the city received no money for any tickets written by our officers..............is the front office lying to help uncle jerry or is the communist urinal wrong in their story. I believe somebody is blowing smoke up my skirt!

"The city general fund gets a small amount, but the department receives nothing specific."

Whoever posted this is incorrect. Under a state law enacted 4 or 5 years ago the agency that writes a payable citation,( not one that gets cleared up by showing proof of compliance)( ie...expired tags). The money is supposed to go to the agency for their specific needs however Jerry Abramson is once again breaking the law by puting the money in the general fund. are talking $20 per payable citation. The first year the law was enacted Metro Goverment received 1.2 million dollars(not a small ammount) and it has inreased dramatically since then.

That money increases every year. Why do you think traffic gets all those overtime grants approved? They are generating dollars for Jerry's granite curbs. Actualy they are whoring themselves out for overtime pay at the expense of the taxpayers, but I cannot blame them because Abramson won't give the police a raise. The Officers and Sergeants have been without a contract for 7 months now after almost 1 year of negotiating. The Lieutenants and Captains have been out over 2 1/2 years.

Personally I belive that there was a plan to do a massive ticket writig push but they were exposed. If you don't think it is true then ask any beat cop how many "stats" he s to have in every day. Bob White and Jerry Abramson have re-instituted an illegal quota system. When will the people of Louisville wake up and realize that a crook is running this town?

I got on here to find out about the newest rumor----that Jerry told the budget-men to cut LMPD expenditures by 3-5% and the resultant suggestion was to start charging us per month to take home our assigned cars. I had heard $60/month if you just take her home and park her in your drive. If you work a secondary job, it's $100/mo.

I hope that this another b.s. rumor, but just don't trust the "big-head." But, in case it's not, what's the F.O.P. going to counter with? I seem to remember a proposal to make us pay for gas a while back. But, the "suggestion" was staunched by the "counter-offer" that we start putting in for overtime for every incident we handle while we are off-duty. I never heard another thing about us paying for our gas after that.

Does anyone have legitimate info on this? Be safe out there!

It doesn't surprise me that the Mayor, just like a housewife that has overspent er budget holds a yard sale to try and get a few dollars extra. After all the elaborate spending on granite curbs and other bs like the millions he didn't tle Metro Council he agreed to pay for museum plaza he proclaims we have to tighten our belts. Hold on mothertrucker you're the bastrich th blew all the money and so now I have to tighten my belt and be a team player? UP YOURS! He has already started it by insisting that the Police conform to more rigorous standards and that everyone has to have at least one "Stat" per day. This means that he has initiated a quota system without calling it that. I have to bring in at least 1 ticket every day or my sergeant gets their butt chewed and on up the line because the chief had his little butt kisser John Minouge design a program so that the Chief wil be able to track ever Officer's stats and then chew the District Major ot who has people that aren't "performing". If we aren't writing tickets then that means that Jerry won't have money to spend. God forbid that I would be riding my beat and preventing crime. Instead I have to get jerry a few more shekels.

If 1000 Officers wrote 1 ticket every day for a month the Mayor would collect an extra $600.000.00 per month.

If they wrote 2 tickets per day then Jerry would collect $1,200,000.00 per month. Many Officers write more than 2 tickets per day. You can see that the potential is out ther for our big headed mayor to exploit. Jerry keeps this money and doen't turn it over to the police departmentlike he is supposed to. Is anyone in Frankfort listening????

Ticketing boom car drivers who disturb neighborhoods with loud thumping bass would bring more revenue to the city. Fines collected stay in the city rather than being split with Frankfort. Fines can go up to to $1000 for a 3rd occurance. Why aren't cars with loud mufflers being ticketed in Louisville?? They are obnoxious and also ruin the quality of live in our city. Stopping these noisy drivers often reveal outstanding warrants, drugs, etc. Stopping low level crimes can prevent more serious offenses - "the Broken Window theory"

it is quite clear that jerry and the other girls who are running this city have not put the best interest of the people first. it is even more clear that the leadership of the police is at an all time worst. i find it increadible that the only ones who could do something about this won't. where has all the money gone? and why do the police seem to have to be the ones punished for it?.i hope i did not waste my vote for the new leadership of the f.o.p. other than getting some other politician to help us get the truth out our f.o.p. is all we have. i know they haven't been in office long but, am i expecting too much to soon from mcguire and co.? when are we gonna here from them on anything important? i mean its nice to have super bowl parties and all but when is the fight in them going to come out and battle jerry like they promised? maybe i'm just fed up and venting in the wrong direction. can anybody please advise?

Both of you guys sound like phuck sticks!!! If either of you represent the county or the city, I dont want to be a part of either... And yes, I am an old county guy who loves the county police but have many city brothers whom I consider top notch cops and friends... Grow up!!!!!!!1

You would think that after 5 years of merger this City/County crap would be over. I never think about it until I come to this web site. At least after 5 more years it will not be as big of problem, because there will be close to 800 plus new officers hired in Metro Academy Classes.
