Streets of Gold and a Hiring Freeze?

November 28th, 2007 @ 8:36PM (16 years ago)

the mayor has always had pet projects to make him look good and do really nothing for the budget. he is always looking into ways to invest the taxpayers money in private projects to look good. All this and he has no money for raises or taking care of the needs of protecting the public. He has frozen all travel and non esential expences but I am sure he has the money for the mayors new years eve party for freeloaders to go to at taxpayers expecnse. Watch him closely as I am sure there will be more pet projects or feel good items that he will find the money for but there will still be no money for the real needs of those who protect the citizens (FIRE, EMS and POLICE).

Bravo Councilman Hawkins! I am glad to see that we still have some elected officils that aren't araid to do the right thing. this arrogant mayor continues to spend without making sure he has enough in the accout to pay for it. He budgets money that he doesn't have (Library improvement fund money 16 million because he thought he could dupe the public with a new tax) he planned on using this money for more frivolous projects and got caught with his pants down again. (remember when he budgeted the Sheriff's tax revenue in 2003 and when he found out he couldn't get it he whined that he would have to cut projects that he planned in his 2003-2004 budget?) There are so many instances of this it is not even remotely funny.

The firefighters were without a contract for two years. The Police Captain's and Lieutenants are two years without a contract and the Officers and Sergeants have been working without a contract for almost six months now. I believe corections doesn't hav a contract and he just got finished screwing EMS. He gave the non-union employees all a 3.5% raise this year. I guess there is no money left for anyone else because he spent it all on granite curbs and park benches.

Did you know that by not filling the 100 Officers we are down (he only replaces retirements) that he rakes in $233,000.00 per month? Is any of that spent on public safety? Hell no! It all goes into his pet projects and wastes taxpayer dollars. The previous article pinted out how far behind Louisville is compared to other cities in Police per citizen ration and our increasing crime statistics mirror that gap.

If your waiting on the MEDIA to say something bad about Jerr the go ahead and buy your casket because you'll die waiting. Everyone knows that the MEDIA is in bed with Jerr and will not print or voice anything bad about him, so give up on that request. Last week the CJ went against him in an editorial about the bond issue for the plaza against doing it for the libraries. Must have set his ******** on fire because the next day they wrote a retraction on the article to make him look good again. One of these days this CITY OF CATTLE will figure out he's no good and vote him out. The only way you can get rid of a bad politician is to keep exposing their dirty deeds and hope they will be voted out in a election. He'll get his in the END I promise.

New FOP President Mcguire....are you keeping up with all this? How about YOU call a press conference to announce how the officers feel about being told there is no money for them, but there is plenty for frivolous pet projects?

Hiring freeze and a FAT RAISE for the chief? I hear that King Jerry is going to give the chief a very, very large raise- to the tune of tens of thousands a year since he's staying, and as an incentive to keep him from looking at any more jobs.

Why not be so a little less narrow minded and look into the ROI (thats return on investment) of the granite vs. the typical concrete. The granite curbs will last much longer that the concrete. Therefore making your artical quiet a waste of time...

A little logical thinking before writing next time will clear up many things!
