Issues Heat UP as Abramson Loses Court Battle

August 6th, 2007 @ 8:22AM (17 years ago)

Of course he will"fight", or more lilely he will have one of hislaw partner cronies fight it at the expense of the taxpayers of Lousville. The thing everyone must realize is that the KY Supreme Court will probably not even hear this case, because the Supremes rely heavily on the court of appeals. If their decision had meen mixed or close than there would be a good chance the high court would hear it. BUT, it was an unanimous decision against Metro Government 3-0... Jerry is only stalling for time and his time is running out.

Now he's going to say there's no money for raises in our contract.

You know when Jerry gets on TV and yammers on and on about the brite future of our hometown ... blah blah blah and says how well we are doing with revenues increasing, tax base growing, occupational license fees increasing blah blah blah and then his evil twin gets up there and cries poor mouth over how much the pension system and personnel costs are rising yet he continues to spend money like it isn't even his. Oh yeah it isn't his. It belongs to the people, but he sure acts like it is his.

Why don't the news channels ever ask why his major departments are working without contracts?

What contract? I'd be willing to bet a ton of money that we'll end up just like the fire fighters, without a contract for the next two years.

I am really not suprised by these developements because every time the firefighters have been in court over this they have won and Abramson has still refused to pay. I think he continues to ******** with them hoping that retirees will die and people will forget about it. What a fool we have at the helm of our ship.

I wish that everyone who reads this article would e-mail this link to a friend in Louisville so that they can see what Mayor Jer really is like. He could have sttled this problem in 1996 but instead he told the Firefighters to go pound sand. They did and have pounded it tight up his ......... It has been a long road for the LFD but I am damn proud of them for hanging in there. They are a great bunch of guys and gals that risk thei lives for us and fair is fair. If Jerry screwed up he should pay them what he owes them, not mess around for 11 years and watch the price rise form 5-10 million to 60 million.

There is a special place in the fires of hell reserved for him AND of course there are no Firefighters in hell!

I see a pattern of bitterness on your part. Ray Frankling did a lot for Lodge 6, Cubby got us into legal defense and was the 1st President to actually hold demonstrations and marches and was very public about Police rights. I guess that while you wallow in your self pitty you never stopped to look at the whole picture. Duting Cubby's 2 terms there were no contracts to be negotiated becasue we were under the old agreement for 5 years. AS for David he also was very outspoken yet professional and negotiated the bridge contract which got you the good health insurance. Know your facts before you post.

You are wrong about all three former Preseidents. What is wrong with getting a job after retirement? Most Cops do! What is wrong with someone seeing talent and getting them to work for them? Are you upset because nobody wants you for a job? I pitty people like you that are so bitter about other peoples succes.

All of the City unions should have an agreement in place where all of the unions will negotiate their contracts at the same time and help stage a massive demonstration in front of City hall on a recurring basis if one of the unions is getting the shaft. Since Jerry gives everyone the shaft, there will probably be no shortage of people marching. It's one thing for the City to try and ignore the Firefighters or the Police or the Sanitation Workers, it's another story for them to ignore the Firefighters AND the Police AND the Sanitation workers all marching in front of city hall. If that doesn't work, then people should just start doing their jobs to the letter of what's required and absolutely not one bit more. As long as Jerry thinks he can get away with what he's doing, he will continue to do it.

They do need to pay up. It;s a shame county taxpayers have to help do it now that merger is here.
