One side note: in all of the talks about recruiting more police and making a contract with the fire department, are there any plans to help the people at Corrections? Despite bad press, the police tend to get the better pay and benefits; fire and EMS don't make as much, but it's hard to bad mouth someone whose entire career is a full 100% about saving lives; but no one mentions anything about helping the people that literally walk unarmed among the hundreds-to-thousands of predators in the jail.
