MetroSafe taking step forward |
RE: MetroSafe taking step forward
You might want to ease up on your critique of the dispatchers. They are way overworked. Go look at their schedule; it's full of 12 hour shifts. They get flopped from nights to days to nights, back and forth, a lot more than we do. Yes, they make mistakes. But I also hear officers almost every day make a mistake and then get testy with the dispatcher when they get corrected. It is the dispatchers job to second guess what we say when they think we have gotten information wrong. We both, officers and dispatchers, make mistakes, we're human. Next time one asks you to repeat your location or status, be thankful they did. They might be your only lifeline in a desperate situation. Thank you dispatchers for the good job you do, I sure am glad I don't work in Mayberry.

Easy Cheetah! The dispatchers are our lifeline and work very hard for us. I wonder, is there anyone on your platonn that mumbles on the radio or screws up too? Why not take a few hours one day and sit down there and actually see what they do.
I have been on the job for a long time and my hat is off to our WONDERFUL dispatchers. We would be hurting badly if we didn't have them.

Most of the dispatchers are not very good. Sorry but it is the truth. There are a few but not many.

RE: MetroSafe taking step forward
unfortunatly i agree...the bad thing is I am a dispatcher.. honestly i feel like i am one of the good ones ... i love my job i check on my officers and i feel like most would agree the urban suburban thing is bad in that room and it seems to be getting worse instead of better. i feel like it is my job to make sure that i keep you all (officers) as informed and as safe as possible... I have a lot of close friends on the street and they have told me that you can tell how your night is going to be by the voice on the radio... it makes me feel good to know that i make a difference and when the crap hits the fan you trust me to be on the other side of the radio....10-86 "thats right"
