Would you use a taser if someone pointed an armed weapon at you ? Don't think so, so why knock the officer for doing his job ? Try putting yourself in the police officer's shoes before you make crazy statments.

If evan had a taser, maybe the police would have used a taser. You don't think the problem might have been that he is a child with a gun? Or are you the one that gave him the gun dumb#$%^...

First do you know what a taser is for and how it work's? I do and I thank God so did the officer and he got to come home to his family. What do you think would have happened if that thug was tasered? Lets get everything in our mind that was going on. Even was robbing a family with a gun. The police were called and Even ran from the police with a gun in his hand. We all know the police MUST go after him "THAT IS THERE JOB". When he was told to put his gun down he did not do what was asked of him and than pointed the gun at the officer and you want that office to say hay he has a gun pointed at me and will not drop it let me get my taser so I can send energy though his body and he will tence up with his finger on the triger and I could get shot. NO!! I don't think so!! He has a brain and it work's that would be why he is a police officer and Even well that my friend should be a question for his parents. What were they doing when there 16yr old son was robbing people? This should no way be put on the officer he was doing his job so if you should have any questions they should be, were was that kids parents and they should be put on the spot to have rased a kid who will not comply with the request of an officer and to have rased a kid who robs others. So go ask all your dumb questions to his parents!

OK, just for kicks, whats bull, that your friend had a weapon, or that he was such a wonderful young man, that he was trying to turn his life around, or that he had a very extensive criminal past. For him to die is a tragedy, i agree, but did he make the decisions in his life to get to this point, yes he did. If I am not mistaken, most of us learn right from wrong at a early age, some of us choose the right path, others find every way possible to choose the other. I hope the family has the strength to understand this very tragic event and understand that this was NOT how the Officer wanted this situation to end. We as Officers never leave our house before a shift and think, Hmmm, how can I mess up an entire familys life forever, No, I think it is more like, How can I help someones family today. Stay positive Brother, you are in all of our thoughts and prayers.

Are you on drugs, or just stupid? (Probably both). If some piece of s#*t was pointing a gun at you, would you actually be dumb enough to use a taser to protect your life? When we are challenged with lethal force- a handgun in this situation, we also must respond by using lethal force to protect ourselves, i.e. a firearm- not a taser. We don't bring tasers to a gunfight. That type of poor judgement would only further endanger our lives. The real problem is that maybe if your little scumbag criminal friend wasn't busy burglarizing peoples homes and pointing guns at the police, he'd still be alive right now. He chose his own fate, and forced the officer into an awful situation. The officer did a terrific job, used his training the way he was taught, and performed his job to the expectations of the decent law-abiding public in this community.

How can you taser someone who is pointing a gun at you? Is that what YOU would have done?
