Sure thing Jerry, Louisville doesn't have a gang, drug, domestic violence problem. This town is freaking Pleasantville.

Maybe we see the gang squad return and get a handle on this.

In all seriousness folks its time we start accepting the fact that our community has a problem and maybe our police chief and mayor, as well intentioned as they may be, aren't implementing the right strategies to get the job done. I support our mayor, our chief and especially our police officers and I absolutely love Louisville, but some new ideas need need to be implemented before this problem gets completely out of control. Do not sit and wait for the problem to go away, it won't, it will just get less media attention.

Tell me why the media does not ask law enforcement in Indy, Cincy, and Nashville if their Chief disbanded their Street Crime Units and reduced the Metro Narcotics Unit so it has little effect on major dealers.. Ask the DEA how the relationship between LMPD has changed since merger!

Here is the issue in a nutshell. I don't support Jerry abramson because he doesn't support the Police. Jerry abramson wants everyone to believe his lies about Louisville being one of the 7th Safest Cities in America. It is all his typical smoke and mirrors. I voted against him and only wish more people had too. He won't admit there is a problem because it would make him and his cronies look bad.

Another problem is that Jerry Abramson won't ever meet or talk with the Police Officers. He doesn't want to hear the truth. He has layers of cronies to insulate him. Well the emporer's new clothes ********! The people in Louisville have seen a true increase in violent crime and the Department and the Mayor's Office continue to spew the same lies anbout everything being hunky dory. It isn't we have had over 50 murders this year and the violence is continuing.

Jerry Abramson could not give a damn about Louisville, only the crooked business dealings he can scam. If he cared about this community then he would take direct action himself. Why is it you never see him on TV discussing crime issues? He says it is because he relies on his hand picked police chief to answer these questions. Well Mr. CEO of the City Of Louisville it is time for you to answer the questions and get with the program.

I appreciate the media bringing this to light, BUT I need to ask where was this story during the elections? This and other stories are being brought out now that mayor jerry has pulled the wool over everyones eyes again. The cj took off the link for what metro employees made during the election but now has put it back up nad are advertising it once again. Citizens of Louisville, everything is not all and well in jerry-land and he wants you to believe. Wake up and open your eyes. YOUR problems are not with the police they are with the people who make up the policy and tell the police what they are going to do and not do. What is eleminated or not brought to light with crime is done to make them look good, nothing else.

The "confidential informant" wont stay confidential long

Kudos

Kudos to the officer that shared this information - although I'm sure they'll suffer reprisals for it. We need more people willing to speak out publicly, if nothing else, the officers that are retiring need to each and every one start screaming this stuff to the rooftops. We can't even begin to deal with these problems until we are first willing to admit that we have one to start with.

And I agree, isn't it amazing that the media held these stories until AFTER the election?

gangs in Louisville

What other reasons, besides simple ineptitude, could there be for a Mayor to undermine the LMPD's ability to investigate serious criminals?
