Officer badly injured in head-on collision

That's quite true - but that is why cops should be MORE careful, not less. If I ran a stop sign and wrecked my city car (not a police car) - I'd find my pay docked for years - and I would lose my take-home privileges. (Oh wait, I do get to drive my car home, but if I got caught driving it anywhere other than for work, I'd lose it, AND probably my job.) Not to mention I'm getting screwed six ways to Sunday on health insurance, while the cops skate by with much better insurance. And you all wonder why other city workers don't support you?
