Maybe they could use driving training while talking on the radio, which occurs a lot. Or working on the in-car-computer, or looking for a stolen car. It's just like talking on a cell phone--it distracts you from what you are doing. Unfortunately, it's part of the job., and therefore, stop signs are missed.

By the way, we aren't allowed to use Papa Johns parking lot to train anymore. How about Southfield's??? I heard it sold recently for a really good price.

Whens the last time you drove your car and your heart rate was 125 to 165 beats per minute while your sitting still. Never I would assume. You don't know what your talking about. Emergency driving doesn't occur only when the lights come on. Cops know when you get certain calls like back an Officer or attempt to locate and you are right there, your heart rate sky rockets and you are now fighting tunnel vision, auditory exclusion and loss of fine and complex motor skills. Officers are required to use due regard when driving but it's harder than it looks. So, comparing your thrilling ride from home to work while eating a bagel and changing the radio channel to an Officer's car chase or trying to apprehend a criminal is like comparing apples to oranges. Stick to things you know about!
