S.W.A.T Team Standoff With Officer Ends Peacefully

Oh boy, slam the dispatchers day! I thought this topic was about a fellow officer in a personal crisis, with his family of FOP members offering support. NOPE - MetroSafe is STUPID, they messed up, blah, blah blah.

From this dispatcher I wish Mark all the best. He was gracious enough to take me out on my first ride along when I was hired at LPD, he's a stand up guy.

On the other topic that has been brought up....Anyone wanting to slam the dispatchers, please feel free to come see us 3-11pm 24/7/365 and be prepared to back your statements up, we've got everything on tape, so be careful what you claim. People with badges are always admitted to our radio room no questions asked. Just buzz the back door by NCIC. I doubt you'll show up though, just hide in secrecy behind the internet message board. Also, if you feel so strongly that the dispatcher screwed up, file a complaint. 574-7111/574-2111.

We can only assume some of the officers receive their training from the same place.

I agree with the other posting that anytime you want to come down and visit the center do so. If anyone feels they can do the job that is done, step up and do it. I won't wear a badge and gun but am thankful of at least 85% of the ones with LMPD do. I know that based on decisions and my abilities on the radio and the officers training that at least 5 officers in the last several months have went home to their families. I am not the sole reason but I know I was instrumental in this.

My God be with the officer, his work and home family.
