I came from this department and lateraled to LMPD last year. Det. Armel is survived by her husband (another FCPD Detective) and their 2 elementary school aged children. The officer who is described here as seriously wounded I knew pretty well. When the shooter entered the parking lot this officer was sitting in his car preparing to go off duty when the guy started shooting up his car. He was shot 5 times in the upper body and is still in critical condition, although I hear he is going to make it.
