EMS Union Upset About Proposed Changes |
RE: EMS Union Upset About Proposed Changes
I don't think you understand, on the schedule they currently work they automatically get 8 hours of OT every two weeks - just like firefighters get automatic OT because of the 24 hour shift schedule. (I think they work out to 8 hours OT one week and 16 hours the next.) The complaint is that they expect to get that OT, it's actually part of their expected base salary. But I don't want them to lose anything by this schedule - so their base pay should be adjusted to account for that schedule change. Mostly, they just don't want to lose the 12 hour shifts - because it means you have more days off . I'm not sure of the current rotation, but they don't ask for OT, it's just part of their regular schedule.
