It's well documented that armed robbery rates go up as drug addiction rates go up. They're tied together. When you're addicted to drugs, you often find yourself in need of some quick cash and have little problem using violence or force to get it. Under Mayor Abramson and Chief White, Louisville has surrendered in the war on drugs and has disbanded the police units that went after the street gangs and narcotics dealers.
