Election 2005

The initial reactions to the story with voting polls was slow, but then it took off like a rocket. We took the polls down after concerns were raised over the perceptions that could have been garnered from them swaying the election one way or the other. In fairness to all the candidates, we know that informal polling is not anything to hang your hat on, but rather on this website as something interesting for people to think about and respond to.

Whenever we post articles on the website we get some really good responses from our members and from folks in the community. We sometimes get idiots who have somehow figured out how to use a computer responding also. We try our best to filter the curse words and we take exception to personal attacks on our members. We also try and maintain freedom of speach.

This website has proven to be a powerful tool for the FOP and our members to voice their concerns and issues. We intend to keep it that way. The power of the press is now also the power of the webpage. WWW.RCFOP.com is our way of getting our message accross and at the same time provide many other features and services to our members. In a little over 2 years we have reached the phenominal number of over THREE AND A HALF MILLION visits to our site!

With this kind of exposure and success we do not want to seem that we are attempting to control the election in any way.

All the officers that like to ******** & whine about the FOP leadership yet we have only one person interested in being the president. Not that Keeling is bad; I think he will do just fine. However, so many have moaned about the the lodge & it's leadership since 2003. Well here is achance for you to do it better and there are not takers save one brave person. The lodge is weak not because of it's leadership but rather it's selfish & self-centered members. I'm not throwing all the officers in that bunch. There are lots of fine officers giving of their time to the lodge. They are not enough to make a drastic difference.

I guess giving out all that off-duty gets you a long ways.
