I agree 100% with the concept.....that would be the best city to live in and the best police dept in the WORLD!!!!!

Great Idea. Way to think "outside the box". I don't know who you are but I'd be willing to bet that you are below the rank of Lt. and probably will stay that way under this administration. Another safe bet would be that you have never attended SPI and have no desire to.

Getting promoted has little to do with how smart you are or how good of a police officer you are. People are chosen based on a combination of book smarts, time spent studying for the exams, and their political connections to the Command Staff, with the last being the most important by far. Some of our absolute worst officers have gotten promoted time and time again simply because of who they know. I hope SPI isn't teaching the kind of poor leadership we're now witnessing on this department. Maybe they need to write some Cliffs Notes on Police Management for our Administration, just in case they weren't paying attention in class.
