The trouble is that if you do your job and it isn't to his personal liking thatn you will run the risk of suspension, indictment and termination.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but earlier this year 4 Officers were fired over an incident where a guy from Bowlong Green was drunk. fought with the police, tried to kick the windows out of a car and when he continued to struggle he got a full set of lumps.

He plead guilty in court and never complained. Chief White sent his IA boys to Bowling Green on a complaint that he himself initiated and told them to get a statement.

He ends up firing all four and now they have to go through a lenghty and costly process to get their jobs back and clear their names. Sound familiar? He did the same thing the year before with McKenzie Mattingly. He has made himself judge, jury and executioner.

Those are just two examples of his heavey handed discipline problems. There are numerous others. I don't think anyone is whining about anything here, I just think that the FACT that he has made it palin that if you do anything he personally doesn't approve of he will fire you has made too many good officers sit back and just ride their beats and avoid confrontatons that could lead to adverse discipline. COuple that with some of the absurd policies that have come out and continue to come out every single week, who really knows what you can and cannot do out there?

Now for the icing on the cake, our beloved mayor didn't let him fill the vacancies the first year and spent the money elswhere. We can never make up for that. So, our Chief disbanded units that made lots of arrests and formed some warm and fuzzzy units that take what few officrs are left on the streets and put them in desk jobs.

Now lets light the candles. I am all for people advancing, but I understand that there is going to be a mass promotion this week of about 23 Sgt.'s and 13 Lieutenants?? WTF that is another 36 people off the street that will no longer be riding beats. Who will replace them????

I disagree. It is more than just a job. It is a very serious commitment to the safgty and wel being of the entire community. Without Officers on the street there would be total chaos. Without the support from the administration and elected government then the whole system begins to break down. We must always keep in mind the reasons this country was founded and why we need protection of our rights, but we musn't lose sight that the honest decent people are the ones who need their rights protected before the thugs do. We have let the ACLU and their ilk drive a wedge between the constitution and common sense. When criminals commit crimes their constitutional rights are secondary to those of the victim's constitutional rights. Forget coddling the criminals ans start letting the police enforce the laws on the books!
