Schools face shortage of resource officers

Experience is only valuable if it is good experience. A friend of mine in the Columbus (Ohio) pointed out that his colleagues on a small township PD may have more years on, but lack experience, in many things. And of course, you can have years of experience, but if it isn't good, practiced experience, experience that you actually learn from, it's pretty much worse than useless. Do you walk away from every encounter thinking - what did I do well, what could I do better - next time? If not, you probably aren't really learning from the "experience."
