Rehiring LMPD Officers

Another thing about Laterals. These people want to remain in law enforcement. They are going to be around for awhile. Some of the new people come into this field and find out it isn't all that they thought and then they leave. Laterals are a good investment and are the key to future for this department. As for the degree. The degree shows that someone put their mind to something and worked toward a goal that they achieved. Alot of good cops don't have degrees but anymore a bachelor degree is similar to a high school diploma 15 years ago. If this is going to be a large police department then it has to be treated as a big police department, and that includes everything along with hiring practices.

I know a guy who was Valedictorian of his academy class over people with Bachelor's degrees and 1 with a Master's and he could'nt be hired today because he had very little college (I think 1 semester). He's a very good officer.
