This is a great idea, and I agree that retired officers shouldn't get specialty units in which younger police officers are NEEDED. The retired officers have already had their chance at these jobs. However who could be better qualified to serve in the training unit than someone who has been there. There are other positions that a young officer shouldn't want and should go to the retired officers, ie., school resource officer, helicopter observer, river patrol units, property room, and the list goes
