Hoorah and Kudos to Oneil!

Lets not forget that Taylor was already a convicted killer at the time of this incident. We see again and again criminals that should be incarcerated out on the streets committing more crime. Thank God that Det. O'Neal was able to prevail. And shame on Aubrey Williams. He should be nominated for Racist of they Year.

And I doubt Louis Coleman could dodge an axe or a knife. He needs to dodge a few meals.

Finally, Mike O?Neil and Brian Luckett can put this behind them and move on.

Thank God the jury saw this civil trial for what it was. Money hungry family members of James Taylor.

Where were they when Taylor was using drugs and commiting crimes? Turning the other way, I imagine. Shame on you.

I just wish this was in the Courier Journal instead of on this website. Not that I didn't enjoy this article, but the "other side" is the ones you need to be reading this and hopefully soak it in. (but I'm probably dreaming)

"Black leaders" keep searching for answers to all the killings, but they

are looking in the wrong place. They need only to look into a mirror. When you elevate people like Newby and Taylor to sainthood. When you protest every arrest of a black criminal. What do you expect? I think the criminals feel a certain amount of security from knowing that they have the likes of Louis Coleman and 2X on their side.

Why in the world is Aubrey Williams whining about no African-Americans on the jury? HE had a say in the jury selections, just like O'Neil's lawyer did!! More smoke to cloud the verdict.

Congrats O'Neal it couldn't go any other way. To Coleman and 2X you want everything right, ok when are you going to quit preaching and defending the crackheads and gun toteing dopedealers in Louisville, you ought to want to see them where they belong: IN PRISON. But no you want to play a race card every chance you get. Black, White, Yellow .the color of your skin doesn't matter, a criminal is a criminal and society has a place for them, before a judge and jury.

A particular element of this community would prefer to see cops being killed every day. They protest, sue, badmouth the police on TV, and try to intimidate the community and the politicians because they want police to be too scared to do any policework. They would rather see criminals roaming the streets dealing drugs, killing, robbing and raping, because that's the kind of people they grew up admiring as children. I grew up admiring the people who put those people in Eddyville. To hell with them and their kind.

Congratulations to Detective O'Neil. We all know this suit was not

well founded.

O'Neil and Luckett,

Congrats! I'm sure you're both sleeping a lot better now.

I'll be glad when all you guys are all allowed to be the police again. I'd sure as hell feel a lot safer. Seems to me the "hug a thug" program isn't working all that well. The sight of a Police Officer holding a teddy bear isn't nearly as scary as a Police Officer holding a Taser.

Paul, great posting.

Mike and Brian, I am very happy it has gone this way. As we all know it is always a 50/50 shot even when you are right in all aspects. The real problem is why it even went this far. It is over for you and lets pray that another one of our brothers/sisters wont have to endure the same for doing their job and protecting our society.

If you come at me with a knife, then of course I am going to use my gun. If being shot doesn't stop you, then I'm going to shoot until I do stop you. I am doing a job for fairly small wages and damn if I am going to die because you are an idiot. All I ask is that Louis Coleman or Mattie Jones does the same thing to me. The carpet bagger Robert White needs to rehire Officer Mattingly back. Had Officer Mattingly not acted as he did then we would have another Peter Grignon. The Mayor would act sad as would the carpet bagger. Common sense is the key

Once again, thanks for the truth. All of our guys and gals in blue need the support of that 'silent majority ' and that 'silent majority ' needs to be more vocal. The support is there--its just not getting the headlines. I hope to see show of that support when elections roll around. We certainly need a change in the leadership of Louisville and of the LMPD. Maybe another newspaper -- one that tell the story as it really is and that tells the whole story. The 'force' has a special place in my heart. Hats off to all.....Keep up the good work!

We are locked in the vicious curve that lawyers have created, if you don't get what you want from one court or judge, keep trying until you find someone sympathetic to your cause. If you are stupid enough to sign over everything to these money-grabbers in the first place, you will keep listening to their promises of money and/or fame. I believe the lawyers on the side that loses in these law suits and cases should be held responsible for all court costs and reimbursement of wages for people who have to be present. Maybe after a few of these shysters have to open their wallets we can relax......War Wagon
