Thank You Mr. Fleck...

Mr. Fleck should not have apologized! Too bad peer pressure made him.

Thank You Mr. Fleck...

Fleck is a stand-up guy and it is b.s. that Irv and the gang presured him into writing an apology. They can cancel court for judge's conventions, but not for a fallen officer? Just again shows the priorities of this court system in Jefferson County!

Thank You Mr. Fleck...

I find it appalling that defense attorneys use such tactics to get their clients off. Yet another reason why they have the reputation they do.

Thank you Mr. Flack for having the courage to say something. I imagine the apology you made was politically pressured. We know how you truly feel.

As for Mr. Kamenish and Mr. Olash, I wonder about your ethics defending DUIs in such a cowardly manner, as every DUI ever charged CAN BE PREVENTED by folks using a little common sense and not driving drunk.

Thank You Mr. Fleck...

I just read this article in the paper & was outraged that the prosecutor was forced to make an apology. It is yet another example of what a racket our local court system is! Stand tall Mr. Fleck as you were right in your initial actions!

Thank You Mr. Fleck...

Keith and John,

You two are so full of crap.

They took advantage of the situation and are trying to say they did it because they "had to". They are just manipulating the system and then have the nerve to say "Its not about officer Grignon". Let me tell you Keith, it was about Peter Grignon and you make us sick!

4th division officer

Thank You Mr. Fleck...

Thank you Bob Fleck!

You are a stand up guy that told it like it is.

Most Defense Attorneys would not have dreamed trying to have a case dismissed that day because the Officer could not attend. Unfortunately ethics and legal practice do not always go hand in hand.

Keith Kamenish used to be a zealous prosecutor for the commonwealth. He was the Chief Narcotics Enforcement Prosecutor and worked hard at putting big time drug dealers away. Somewhere along the line a few years ago he sold out, he went to the dark side as they say and became a defense attorney and started taking money from the same dope dealers and thugs he used to try and put behind bars. It stopped being and issue of "right and wrong" and instead became an issue of "getting it while the getting is good!"

I have many friends who are defense attorneys. I understand their job is to get the best deal for their client just like mine is to put their client behind bars, but the sleazey tactics used in court that morning were inexcussable. When you have no other defense then I guess that is all they could hope for was dismissl because the arresting Officers were attending the funeral of a Murdered Brother Officer.

Save the BS for someone else guys. I know you and know you are not interested in justice, you are interested in MONEY and your reputations with the SOB's that utilize your services constantly. It doesn't matter to you anymore that getting a guilty person off is wrong! It doesn't matter to you that the SOB that you are "Trying to represent their best interests" may go out and kill someone the next day, all that matters is that he can go tell his thug friends, "Man, use Kamenish, he'll get you off"

Again, it is a pitty Bob Fleck had to appologize for his actions. It is a pitty when the guys in the white hats have to appologize for standing up for what is right. It is a pitty that sleazey attorneys give all attorneys a bad name.

Thank You Mr. Fleck...

Apparently the ELECTED Jeff Co ATTY Irv Maze put the pressure on Fleck to apologize if I read the letter right. So as far as I'm concerned every officer in this city should vote for his competition next election. If he is to spineless to stand up to a handful of attornies then he doesn't need to be in office, PERIOD!! A LMPD officer

Thank You Mr. Fleck...

Keith & John,

Would you miss your brother's funeral?

Thank You Mr. Fleck...

MAZE AND STENGEL = SOFT ON CRIME. TIME FOR 2 NEW PROSECUTORS that's all we need to make this City great again! ...and a new Mayor too, but THAT'S IT, WE'D BE GOOD then....and maybe a new Chief....and a new Command Staff...and some new Councilpeople, then we'd be a lot better off...especially if we got some new Judges...and some new cars... GOD PLEASE LET ME WIN THE LOTTERY.

Thank You Mr. Fleck...

I hope that these attorneys like trials. I fully intend to take every case I have with them to trial. There will be no more plea deals that I will agree to with them. Make them work for thier money. I would hope all other Officers do the same.

Thank You Mr. Fleck...

Why is it that Prosecutors and Judges never seem to mind when the defense attorneys don't show up until 11 or 12, but are always willing to dismiss a case if they happen to show up early and the officer is running a little late? Answer: Because most of them know that one day they'll probably be working for defense attorneys.

Why didn't the Prosecutor ask for a continuance??

September 22nd, 2005 @ 10:24AM (19 years ago)

I understand the raw emotions that come from the tragic death of an officer. However, it seems to me that if I pay good money to hire an attorney to defend me, I would expect that he would do everything possible within the law to get me off. I'm surprised the prosecutor did not ask for a continuance in anticipation of the slain officers funeral. Whether you like what the attorneys did or not, they operated within the law and in their clients best interest (something they are obligated to do). Has anyone asked Fleck why he did not push for a delay?
