Chief White calls the Mayor. "Sir, members of our Department were in a car chase that involved a home invasion, a kidnapping and shooting at a state trooper. I apologize sir, before I could get on the radio and stop the chase, the officers had the perps. in custody." "The Mayor replies, "Don't worry Chief, there is still plenty of time to hand out punishment ot the officer's involved. Maybe, I'll call Dave Stengel in the morning and get his people to work on it"

Hey Chief, Mayor Abramson, and Dave Stengel

State's Atty: FL Dpty Justified Fatally Shooting Man in Back Dateline: St. Petersburg - 5/3/2005 WFTV.COM

A sheriff's deputy feared for his life when he fatally shoot a 19-year-old man in the back after the man ignored orders to show his hands during a drug raid, the county's top prosecutor said Monday. State Attorney Bernie McCabe said an investigation showed that Pinellas County Deputy Chris Taylor feared that Jarrell S. Walker was searching for a weapon on the floor when the officer shot him twice in the back during the raid at a St. Petersburg home April 12. Walker rolled off a couch onto the floor when officers burst in and continued to search under the couch and in the waistband of his pants, despite Taylor's repeated shouts that he stop moving and show his hands, McCabe wrote in a letter to Pinellas County Sheriff Jim Coats. Walker "was reasonably in fear that Jarrell S. Walker was seeking a firearm with which to take his life and was, therefore, fully justified in fearing for his safety and firing his service pistol at (Walker) to prevent such an act," McCabe wrote. Although no firearm was found under the couch, a 9 mm handgun was found on a couch in another part of the house, the letter said. Deputies had seized handguns and crack cocaine from the house during a search in March. Some area residents, including members of the Democratic Uhuru Movement, denounced the shooting, saying it was another example of local law enforcement targeting black youths

Dateline Louisville...

Over 50 Officers of LMPD have been suspended pending investigation of allegations of Impersonating Police Officers stemming from an late night chase of two young veterinary students. Chief White said other charges may be pending when it was learned that several Officers exceeded the speed limit, failed to use turn signals, and generally used "bad manners" by tailgaiting "da scared yutes." Mayor Abramson has already made monetary offers to settle with the families of what he said were two crazy kids on a teenage joy ride and that he was going to ensure that several Officers were indicted and fired for giving the City a bad image so close to Derby. Dave Stengel was reported to have been taking bids from Kinko's for the cost of the sheer mountain of paperwork involved with indicting Officers. He said the ink was barely dry on Detective Mattingly's case when LMPD went and did it again...acted like Police. Reverand Coleman is holding a prayer vigil for the two "rising stars in the community." Chris 2X has organized a rally and a commemorative T-shirt to be sold on the Politically Correct Broadway Festival (otherwise known as the event for people apparently not allowed at the Derby).

DATELINE Follow-up. The ACLU has filed a complaint against LMPD for "racial profiling." The ACLU spkokesman said ' just because the car make, model, color and license number matched that used in the home invasion and kidnapping, there was not sufficient probable cause to try to stop the vehicle. Mayor Abramson says, "I consider this a serious matter and will look into it.. The Mayor went on to say that, "there will be no 'common sense' police work done here as long as he is Mayor."

The Chief concurred.

Oh great, now the person sitting in the chief's chair is advising the bad guys to take legal action against the trooper for not returning their property after he hid it in his cruiser license plate. I guess next thing will be mouth coleman trying to get the city to pay for damages to their car after it was bump-stopped. Too bad the mayor will probably have someone read this and say, "hey, that sounds like a good idea!" Thanks LMPD officers, we make fun of it, but at least the bad guys got caught this time. War Wagon
