I am only able to dimly view my computer screen as I write, because my vision is blurred by the tears streaming down my cheeks. I have wept for twenty minutes, and I will most likely weep for twenty more before I am through. Although fate never afforded me the pleasure of meeting Officer Grignon, I feel a sorrow and an emptiness that will never be comprehended by anyone but a fellow officer.
