McKenzie Mattingly Reaches Settlement Agreement With City

March 14th, 2005 @ 10:56PM (19 years ago)

This news cheers up my whole day. I'm glad to hear that Mattingly got his back pay, he deserves it. I hope it didn't come too late to keep him out of financial ruin. Also, if I was in his shoes I probably wouldn't want to come back to work for LMPD either.

If I were him, I would have been tempted to moon Chief White on my way out of HQ after resigning.

VINDICATION!

I have known all along that McKenzie was innocent and I cannot blame him for not wanting to return to work for the Chief that called him a murderer and had him arrested.

I hope and pray that he does find peace and after all of this. I firmly believe that even though he went down the roughest road any innocent man ever has that he kept his integrity and his sanity throughout. I pray for him and his family.

It is a shame that a good man is no longer on our department serving our community because of a thug that was selling drugs and trying to kill a Police Officer. I hope that other officers can now have a bit of closure with this also.

McKenzie, GOD bless you and your family. It is a sad day that we are loosing you in our department, but it is understandable with the way you have been treated by this chief. He was wrong and now everone knows it.

Take care....

McKenzie you will always be a brother officer to us all. Thank God this nightmare is over for you. Good luck in all that you do. Its a terrible what this administration put you and your family through but I hope other officers CAN LEARN from your experience. WAKE UP PEOPLE this is what the administration would do to anyone of us.

P.S. Can you file a personal suit against the Chief now???

To Mckenizie and family,

I want to wish you the best and tell you what an example you have been for us. Your message you left for Todd during his shooting in February was an inspiration and greatly appreciated during a really emotional time for our family. I listen to it still today. Now, my family proceeds on as my brother- in- law - Garry Sapp, is in the midst of his court dealings against inflated charges of assault. As in your case, I am hopeful that things will turn out as well. You've held you head up and continued to fight for what is just, and my family will do so as well, for Garry, Todd, and all officers that are faced with horrible situations. Cases such as these can predict the future for all officers and their families. I am sorry to not see you put that uniform on one more time... but I truly understand your position. I extend the best to you and your family. I wish you the best things that life can offer and success in ALL that you do be it law enforcement or some other endeavor. Thanks again. You can call us anytime. Jenny Hale

As a police officer i am glad to say this man is no brother of mine.

Nevermind about Mattingly. We need more laterals like these!

March 18th, 2005 @ 9:42AM (19 years ago)

I have seen our latest batch of laterals and they don't match up to this class.

Nevermind about Mattingly. We need more laterals like these!

Undignified and inappropriate for this forum. Grow up.

Nevermind about Mattingly. We need more laterals like these!

What's undiginified or inappropriate? You must have a problem with females working on a police department. We're all about diversity here.

Thank God that McKenzie didn't meet the same fate as Peter Grignon. It is a sad day when police officers cannot do what we pay them for- To PROTECT and SERVE- for fear of being fired and, possibly charged with a crime. They are risking their lives and their families' happiness for us. The news media and those "politically correct" do-gooders need to walk a mile in a police officer's shoes. Maybe then the thugs that the officers are forced to kill to PROTECT us and themselves from the bad guys wouldn't be held up as " good" persons and our city could quit giving their families money. McZenzie, I am proud of you and sorry that you and your family had to endure such an ordeal. May God bless you. Good luck in all you do.
