4 Metro Officers Fired
Thanks for explaining that to all who think the FOP does not support them or keep up with what's going on in the Department. I'll agree that there is nothing worse than a dirty Police Officer and that they should be fired, and if appropriate, criminally charged. What I don't understand is the amount of discipline given out in this case and others. It seems the facts do not support the Chief's allegations against these four.
Now, since the fine Rev. Coleman and his group of baffoons likes to make race an issue in everything, how come discipline with in the Department appears to be divided along race lines? What is the policy...justified shoot with your gun and your fired... If your gonna discipline people, do it equally and appropriate for the infraction. This Chief has been all over the board with his decisions...hell, you even have Majors wrecking cars (at fault) and nothing is done.

" Whenever you wonder why the FOP doesnâ??t make statements regarding detail about the specificities of charges brought against one of our members, it is because we are following the Police Officerâ??s Bill of Rights established in 1994. Statements made prior to final disposition of the charges, which arguably includes the appeal process would be in violation of this State Law. "
If this is the law then is there any reason whey the Chief is not prosecuted and or sued for the comments he makes on the media regarding cases.
This post is not in anger just wonder if this is possible.
"FOP Lodge # 614 is the 11th Largest FOP Lodge in the Nation with over 2,200 Members. There are over 8,000 FOP Members in the State of Kentucky and 318,000 Nationwide"
I think it's about time all this membership starts to flex it's muscles a little and do something about RCW and his crew.
I agree with the first comment, discipline seems to be heavy handed towards the white members of this department. With numerous black members violating law and policy with little or no discipline.
Racism is racism no mater what color you are.
Let's ask Coleman if he will march for the white offciers who feel there is racism against them going on within LMPD. After all he is for Justice for everyone, isn't he?? Maybe the FBI needs to look into whether white officers are having thier civil rights violated by the Chief.
ok, I'll wake up now.

According to KRS 15,440 for a Department to continue to receive KLEPF funds it has to comply with laws like KRS 15.520, the Police Officers Bill of Rights which says:
"When a police officer has been charged with a violation of departmental rules
or regulations, no public statements shall be made concerning the alleged
violation by any person or persons of the local unit of government or the police
officer so charged, until final disposition of the charges"
Maybe someone needs to formally charge White.
