Greensboro NC Police see fewer homicides

Gee, sound familiar to anyone? Just another example of Bobby's pitiful track record of so-called leadership and the immeasurable consequences. 69 homicides last year and the criminals are given the keys to the city. LMPD used to have a special unit called Street Crimes, that helped keep these atrocities in check, but Chief White decided we didn't need them. Not to mention the other vital units he cut to hideously low numbers, like.....oh, let me see.....HOMICIDE! He did the same crap in Greensboro with decentralization and you see where it got them and what they have had to do in the wake of his departure to counter the affects of his destructive reign. He's destroying this department and this community. To the citizens of Louisville who read these posts, you deserve better and you should start demanding it.

If it werent for the fact that people have lost their lives it would almost be humorous. Irony at its best. Can the chief admit he has made a mistake? I doubt it. How about another task force Bob?

I hope the people in this city finally wake up the day before the next election. This administration needs to be removed from the " mayor for life's office" to the puppets that have been put in as head of dept.s. Chief White needs to leave before anymore damage is done to the police dept but as long as Jerry's media, that he runs in this town continues to plug how great things are, it won't happen. So people wake up especially the one's south of the Watterson Xway. Remember how much was done for you during the last snow when garbage ran out your door and you couldn't go anywhere because 50 percent of the snow removal equipment was broken down and the city wouldn't hire anyone to fix it. Media do a little checking on this matter if you have the nerve. This place we live will continue to go to the criminals until some new leadership is put in the RIGHT places and the only people who can do it are the voters

Obviously, given the escalated homicide rate here, there is some relevance to this story and chief white's management decisions. If you do have a plan I suggest you let us, the citizens of louisville, know about it.

Chief Wray took a page form the "Community Oriented Police" guide book and used it properly! Unlike Robert White who made the cuts in Greensboreo then again in Louisville of attacking the root of the problem, the open air drug markets and the gnag activity, he chose to re-implement these special units and then the people, the citizens of the community finally fealt safe to come forward and speak up so that the community oriented policing can work and the results are measurable. A 50% reduction in homicides, unlike the massive increase that Louisville has seen since he took office and cut Metro Narcotics to the bone and cut the eliminated the Street Crimes Unit.

Mayor Abramson take notice of this. This guy you hired that hung his hat on decentralization is the cause of the increased murder rate. You are responsible for hiring him. He is responsible for making these foolish cuts, but you are responsible for backing him all the way. If it was my child that was murdered, I would be filing a lawsuit against you and Chief White because YOU made the streets of Louisville unsafe!

These are facts, not the fiction that you have been pedling to everyone. The people of Louisville need competant leaders in Metro Government and the Police Department. If you let White continue with his ignorant programs then you are the one that will pay the price. The citizen's of Louisville will remember this come election time!

Hire police to fill the ever growing vacancies. Back your Police Department instead of treating them like third class citizens. Mr. Mayor you have made the comment in the past that the Police are a neccesary evil, but you fail to realize that the Police are not the evil, it is the criminals and those that back them. It is the failed policies of your adinistration that has made the streets of louisville a killing field.

It is time for you to quit saying this Chief has your full support and start doing something about it! It is time for you to realize in order for the City to prosper and become the CIty that you envision that you make Law Enforcement and the safety of the Citizens of Louisville your number 1 priority. We can have the nicest downtown, the nicest riverfront etc.. but it won't mean anything if the good people are afraid to go there.

I WOULD HOPE THAT THE MEDIA AND THE CITIZENS OF THIS CITY WOULD WAKE UP AND SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING TO THIS CITY.

MAYOR FOR LIFE AND CHIEF WHITE HAVE CAUSED THIS PROBLEM WITH HIS CUTS IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, NOW WHAT IS GOING TO BE DONE ABOUT IT...........NOTHING AS USUAL.......WILL CHIEF WHITE ADMIT HE WAS WRONG WHEN HE CUT THE STREET CRIMES UNIT AND STREET LEVEL NARCOTICS FROM METRO NARCOTICS.....HE HE EVER ADMITTED HE WAS WRONG?

It is amazing how our left wing rag hasn't bothered to run any kind of story on this. A 59% reduction in a years time. Hell we only had 69 murders. What is the big deal? That's not newsworthy is it Mr. Ivory? I'll bet if it was the police were doing somehting wrong it would be newsworthy, but Jerry picking RCW and then contining to say he is doing a good job when the facts from not only here but Greensboro prove otherwise that is something you don't want to put ink to paper on.

Face it ladies and gentlemen. The great plan that Jerry Has doesn't include public safety and it never will. You are an at risk pedestrian, a future murder victim and taking your life in your own hands when you drive down the freeway.

As long as we have a Chief of Police that thinks drug dealers can't be stopped so we'll just look the other way, we will continue to have murders. The same goes for the wanna be gansters that hang out on the street corners.

As long as we have a Chief of Police that cut the traffic unit to the bone and has officers within Districts writind speeding tickets on neighborhood streets instead of the areas on the interstate where people are dying, we will continue to watch our traffic fatalities rise.

It is amazing that the people keep dying all around us and the Mayor keeps saying White is doing a good job. Every thing he touches turns to lead. He did the same thing in Greensboro and it wasn't until he left and they put things back the way they were that people wuit dying.

you are all just jealous of bob! he makes $140,000 a year, plus another $25,000 per year paid into his retirement account. he has no real responsibilities, faces no stress-inducing activities like domestic violence calls, traffic stops, crack dealers on the corner, etc..., makes any decision that jerry comes up with a reality, and does not have to play by the same rule book as everyone else. do you honestly think bob is at his $400,000 house worrying what a bunch of insignificant pee-ons like the officers and citizens think?
