Impressive! At a time when it seems that Journalism and Ethics are a divorced couple, it is really good to see someone like Mr. Hyatt come forward with a bold statement like this.
I have been following the postings on here and this has been a very interesting time to watch from the sidelines.

Mr. Hyatt,
As a street officer I would like to thank you for your article. If I ever meet you in person, I will come up and thank you with a hand shake.

THANK YOU TONY HYATT FOR ANSWERING OUR QUESTIONS/CRITICISM ABOUT YOUR NEWS ARTICLE. IT IS REFRESHING TO SEE A JOURNALIST COME OUT OF THE IVORY MEDIA TOWER AND NOT BE DEFENSIVE OF THE FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS OF THE MEDIA. I HAVE WATCHED YOU FOR AS LONG AS YOU HAVE BEEN IN THE LOUISVILLE MARKET, UNTIL YOU WENT TO WHAS, AND HAVE ALWAYS FOUND YOU TO BE FAIR AND BALANCED OVER THE YEARS. WE NEED MORE JOURNALISTS LOCALLY AND ESPECIALLY NATIONALLY WHO STILL BELIEVE IN JOURNALISTIC ETHICS AND FAIR AND BALANCED REPORTING. THANKS AGAIN FOR BEING A STAND UP GUY. DAVE JEWELL

Mr Hyatt I will agree with you that a "retraction" is not needed but I also do agree with you about the "Explanation" ! .... You did that and your "Explanation" was WELL done ! ...I can appreciate that as well as many other Officers do .... I understand that your job is also not easy, and I commend you for being upstanding and honest with us ... We as Officers do need the media to help us out at times because truthfully you as the reporters get the stories out to the public but please remember try to take the Officers side "when" they are right . And believe me im not saying We are always right because no one is . But it does seem at times the media only wants to run us in the ground and thats not fair or impartial .
Mr.Hyatt you seem to be a very intelligent man and a Great Reporter as i have watched alot of your coverages not only on the Police but other news worthy stories as well and you do a Great job ...WHAS is my favorite news channel and will continue to be .... as you said to Chris "Keep up the good job" and continue your outstanding reporting !
Again Thank you for communicating with us and posting an Explanation on WHAS11.com website as well as RCFOP.com ..... As one Officer stated in a previous post if i get the pleasure of meeting you on the street i will great with a handshake and give you my utmost Respect !
I Wish you and your family the Happiest of Holidays and Thank You Very much for your time and help with this situation ! .... And please lets try HARDER to work together as I Think we need each others respect and professionalism !

Mr. Hyatt,
Thanks for the response... I am glad we still have WHAS and yourself to give good reporting to Louisville.

WHAS is my source for news. Thank you Mr. Hyatt.
Other stations could learn something from this.
