Pfft.
Sounds to me more of the magic mirror bs.
"Hey, check out this report, it's got everything to reduce crime!!!"
Give me a break. I have an idea. Chief White, how about you take your "bunch of crap" parlor tricks somewhere else. The citizens and police officers of Louisville deserve better and you sir, are not it.
Over 100 positions short? That isn't an excuse, that is a MAJOR problem that is going to get worse if you and the Mayor don't get off your collective asses and do something about it.
Do I sound crass? Probably. But this has gone beyond stupid.

WOW!
It is amazing when someone puts things together in a story like this how it all begins to make sense. I too am fed up with the way that the Chief of Police is always blaming everyone else for the problems, I don't think I have every heard him on the news talking about what some of his Officers have done right.
It saddens me to think that the most important office in Metro Government is filled by someone that cannot handle the job apparently and people are dying because of it.

I wonder who he is going to hire this time from the "consultants" because they know what is best. Last time we had "consultants" here we ended up with a new person incharge of the training unit, who is a close friend of the chiefs. Hell, this person is still doing consulting jobs for other depts outside of LMPD. IF this is the case, how can he give his all to this dept if he is finding fault with others?

I have spoken with a number of officers who have not seen Chief White's "Strategic Plan". How can a citizen get a copy?
I am also puzzled by two recent articles in the Courier Journal. Lt. Col. Phil Turner was credited with starting a violent crime task force that has been making a lot of arrest in high crime area. Both the city and county police had units prior to merger (street crimes and major case unit) that did the same thing. Phil Turner was one of the main proponents of dismantling these units and putting the personel from these units back in the districts. Why is such a unit a good idea now? Because Mr. Turner thought of it? Maybe it was just a way to take care of his friends and cronies.
Also, I liked the district I live in. Why was there no public imput on "redistricting"? I know many of the officers did not care for the new major, but the quality of service remained high in the Fern Creek area. Many people have concerns that the quality of service will go down, and that officers they know will be transfered because the new district commander wants to bring in his own people. Is it true that officers and sergeants are being moved so that district commanders can put their friends in cush jobs?
Metro police officers, please keep up the good work. Chief White and Phil Turner will be gone soon. Stay strong and don't let these dirty no good so and so's get you down. God bless you, and God bless the United States of America.

Due to the shell game with the numbers and the lack of concern for officer safety that rw and the mayor have displayed, I have advised my wife and attorney that (God forbid) if anything happens to me to get all the information on this bullsh** and sue everyone in the ivory towers to make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else. The bottom line is they really don't care as long as they give the perception to the public that all is fine.
