Whats the matter? Job got you down?
LMPD Feeling The Pinch of Officer Shortfall
For those of you who don't know., the classes they want to or are going to hire will not be on the street for a year. By the time they are trained and relesed on thier own and actually count as a one offiicer car. So by saying we have a class starting and can add 10 to that class is just a numbers game. This is not a job that you get hired and just put out on the street. If the, the chiefs staff, is so concerned with having officers out on the street why do/did they have the school officers / dare officers sitting in the office while school is out over the summer. This is when all the murders were going on. Why wasn't these officers out in the districts working. That unit is as big as a platoon (30 officers). GOOD USE OF MANPOWER.As for why officers are leaving, you use to hear of officers wanting to stay 25-30 plus years. Now you hear officers saying it is so bad they want out as soon as possible. This is because the police are not being treated right. Do you actually think that after I get a degree and can make more $$$$ in the private sector, without the headach of always being second guessed and possibly indited, will actually work as a police officer? If you think that it will happen, give up your job and be the first to appy and work out here.
