It's gotten pretty bad everywhere inside I-264 except for along US42. There are shots fired every night all over the county. Divisions aren't even responding to shots fired. LMPD command thinks they can solve the problem by kissing west end ministers and activists on the mouth in community meetings, while letting the FBI take over the criminal investigations.

It's a relatively small number of criminals doing all of the crime. We used to keep their kind in jail or prison most of the time. The enlightened "progressive" lawyers downtown and in Frankfort decided it was better we let them run free for civil rights, equity and racial justice.

When populations come under significant stress from the threat of violence, and fight or flight instincts are activated, they often come to a tipping point. We are very near that tipping point now.

We're probably weeks or months away from people taking out these criminals instead of surrendering. Once the bullets start flying back towards the criminals, a lot of others lose their fear of both the criminals and the government.

Criminals don't have much fear of law enforcement anymore, but they may rethink things once the average Joes out there decide they need to die instead of handing them the keys or their wallet.

There are some worse things than proactive policing.
