Unnecessary paperwork steals time that it doesn't have to. They can easily reduce manpower needs by sending an officer to take an abbreviated report and take some video of a scene to get the minimum needed to pursue a suspect when needed. They can ask the victims or complaintant to fill out additional information online.

Other agencies could easily take on some traffic duties, investigation of non-violent crimes, and nearly all of the necessary details. They can tell people holding events that they will have to provide security officers certified by Metro to perform traffic duties or else move it out of the streets. There more than enough mostly empty parks in Louisville to eliminate nearly all of the events that have led to road closures and related police details.

You can throw all the overtime you want at the police and won't fix squat. We are.tired and the idiocy of putting the department in twelve hours shifts has exacerbated the problem. People get beat down after a shift and we rarely want to hit overtime. Plus what are we gonna do ride around looking to arrest a real criminal and get in trouble when things go bad???? Sorry not sorry for stating the obvious as nothing gonna happen until we get a legit change of leadership in this city that supports the entire city.
