Liberals view the world through the lens of a sheltered middle class or upper class youth who had their nose in fantasy novels and TV show where the do-gooder always wins by the end of an episode. They spent 4 to 8 years listening to equally out of touch college professors speculate about how the world they never worked in works based on the books they read. They come up with unworkable solutions, which ambitious ladder-climbing politicians with a badge try to promote. They can't become or remain the boss if they speak the truth about how their ideas were disproven repeatedly over many years. They slap a new label every year or two on the same old sh-t pushed down on police departments. Those cities that ignore the liberals running Washington DC end up getting consent decrees slapped on them. All of the democrat run cities and the cities with consent decrees have experienced homicide surges of 200% to 300% or more just since the Obama people came into office.

Law enforcement doesn't require genius to do it right, but it has a high penalty for idiocy. The only correct answer of the last 30 years has been patting down felons for guns routinely, putting them behind bars a few years if they get caught with one, arresting your way up the chain of command in gangs and drug syndicates and shutting them down. LMPD will never stop the homicides from going up as long as the average west end 14 year old feels they have no choice but to join a gang to avoid being beaten often or killed. You don't fix that problem with consent decrees or free ice cream giveaways at the grocery story. You fix it by putting a boot to the gang's a$$
