The US government murders and needlessly kills people overseas all the time, so it's not surprising they've brought that home while doing a great job keeping all the attention on local police. The Obama-Biden administration killed 25,000 people in Libya while assisting the Libyan branch of Al Qaida with their overthrow of Moammar Gaddafi.

Nearly any experienced homicide detective not biased by political or personal considerations would charge the officer who shot her. It's easy to guess why they would not have, which is they would have a low likelihood of convicting a black officer shooting a white woman participating a riot of nearly all white trump supporters with a mostly black anti-Trump jury pool. They would probably have had a hung jury, although it was clearly manslaughter at least.
