Two officers fired by Police Chief Erika Shields over Atlanta tasing are reinstated

They arrested the pedo child rapist officers in 2017 for crimes committed in 2011 that command, PIU and federal agents were aware of in 2013. They ignored the rape allegations of a dozen women against another officer for several years then let him plead guilty to misdemeanors. They pretended there was a multiagency LMINTEL task force taking over violent crime in 2015, which didn't actually exist until 2020. They shoved thousands of rape kits with prosecutable evidence into storage closets for years until the media and state forced them to process them, after which they began convicting rapists. They tried to cover up how the drug unit ignoring the SWAT commander by going it alone and caused an unnecessary death in a drug raid.

There's nothing good happening here, or about to happen here, which is why officers are taking pay cuts to take jobs on smaller departments.

It's nearly impossible to find anyone qualified for law enforcement willing to take the job who will stay more than a few years. Those who stay fall into 3 categories. Dedicated to public service, can't find a job paying as much anywhere else, got hired because they knew somebody and couldn't get any job anywhere else, and "i cAn'T lIvE wItHoUt hAvInG tHe PoWer!!!!"
