Police aren't here to fight wars. In a war, you take casualties and you have a training and recruiting pipeline to backfill those empty spots. Police departments today have none of that. LMPD has been shrinking for years.
The military itself will find it challenging to recruit combat arms troops in the current climate. They only have an easy time of getting those who just need a job, but they aren't the kind who volunteer for combat units. Even if things calm down domestically, Biden will probably try to get us into a war like every President since Ronald Reagan aside from Trump. Good luck finding anyone to fight it for him.
