Worthless.

I like how the article has to mention that she's "openly gay". What relevance does this have? Am I about to start seeing sexual orientation when star athletes sign a big contract with sports teams? "Lebron James just signed with the Lakers. He has sex with women."

I'm sure the troops will be ready to go and lock up some bad guys with this new chief in charge!!!!

Crime will continue to go up. Moving on.

My Fellow Officers,

I've stayed silent about this investigation for far too long, unable to defend my name, my actions, my badge, and my family. By now, however, you all know that my position with the LMPD is being terminated due to the political pressures involved with the Breonna Taylor investigation. In her email to all of us a few days ago, our chief noted that she "has placed the responsibility upon the shoulders of the people who I believe are responsible." In the same email, we were told that our chief would "support any actions you take in good faith to protect yourselves and others." Interesting! I guess that support doesn't extend to defending yourself after your partner is struck with a bullet during a routine search warrant. It seems our higher ranking officials will support us in our efforts to protect ourselves and others, just as long as there isn't a group of protestors or political pressures demanding otherwise. And then with the slightest bit of political and social pressure, they take away your job, your honor, and your security without question. And is it any coincidence that the very chief who made the decision to terminate my employment is now immediately stepping aside? Your leaders aren't afraid to perform hatchet jobs on you either. Think about that the next time you put on the uniform and badge. For those of you still doing real police work it's just a matter of time till you to will be a sacrificial lamb. I plead with you, do nothing.

The turmoil my family has faced in the past several months is unprecedented. We've faced an unrelenting string of death threats. We were forced to relocate multiple times, changing homes, changing schools, and more. The media continuously leaves out important details with regards to this case due to their agenda. They have lied by omission on many occasions. On social media, even more blatant lies about the facts have become widespread. My reputation has been completely dismantled. My extended family has set up a Give Send Go fundraiser, but it has yet to meet its total goal. Our future seems uncertain. Because of the decisions made by your "leaders," my family is now left without health insurance during a global pandemic, my retirement benefits are up in the air, and I'm now tasked with gaining employment despite the damage done to my reputation by those who know nothing about what took place on that night. Again, think about that the next time you put on the uniform and badge.

You know as well as I do what this job demands. You know the long hours, the time spent away from our families, the danger that we encounter every day and night, facing things no one else in our society will face, protecting those who need protection, serving those who need service. We are willing to do what others aren't so that order can be maintained. And yet, we're considered the enemies. You are considered an enemy. Whether it's a new chief called in to perform a hatchet job on you, or your mayor willing to throw you under the bus and fold under pressure, or a crowd demanding justice when they don't have the slightest clue as to what true justice really is -- you're the enemy. You will be demonized, while criminals will be canonized. You will make the smaller paycheck, while others settle with the city and profit millions.

I'm sorry it has to be this way. I wish our department provided more support for the folks like you or me, who go out there every day and do the work that needs to be done. Because of the lack of their leadership and support, your job has become even more dangerous. We pay the price. I pay the price. You know this has nothing to do with what others want to twist it into. You know we do what we do because we value human life, not because we disregard it. And yet, we're still made into the enemy. So, stay safe out there. Keep in mind, the majority of the community supports you, despite the loud, radicalized minority. It's been my pleasure to serve with you all. God speed.

This new chief sounds like a Fischer clone. She's already voiced her true feelings at yesterday's news conference. They'll probably just work in tandem to do what they do best, come up with an abstract problem and create a crisis around it. Systemic racism > public health crisis > refusal to enforce the law in high crime neighborhoods in the name of equity and diversity.
