Ummm, I believe what she did was save us from more bureaucracy. Some people will never be satisfied.

I've been retired coming up on 10 years now, so technically my dog is no longer in this fight, but...

I've known Yvette for years, and at the risk of being accused of being a "Gentry Fanboy", I thought how she handled herself at the most recent interaction with the "Hoops bus" was actually pretty decent, and the video was quite entertaining to watch.

If it takes a Chief that can (and is willing) to communicate to a group under those circumstances using blunt language they can relate to in order to get the point across, then A for effort.

She was actually calling people out by name, and kinda had that "mad momma" vibe going on. If it gets at least some of their attention, than so be it!

That being said, I think at this point LMPD and Metro Louisville is far more broken than even Chief Gentry can quickly fix, no matter how pure her intentions may be. A true turnaround is going to have to happen starting at the polls, and we all know the history of how this county votes collectively as a group.

At the very least, it would be nice to see the members of the department standing together and supporting each other (and Chief Gentry, as long as she's here) rather than tear each other down at every opportunity.

Just my $.02
