It seems that only LMPD is being targeted. LMCOs are county-wide ordinances, replacing all Jefferson County ordinances ever since the city-county merger in January 2003. If this proposed ordinance is passed and signed into "law", how will this affect all of the other law enforcement agencies operating within the boundaries of Jefferson County? They need to be asking these questions to make sure that the metro council's ordinance proposal, if passed, isn't going to jeopardize their safety as well.

All of the suggested policy recommendations that were mentioned in this news article are already included in the department's SOP... this isn't new territory for our officers. The only reason why the Metro Council wants to incorporate these specific policies and procedures into a metro ordinance is so that they can have the legal power to enforce them with criminal penalties. Don't be fooled, you know they'll try if given the opportunity. If during an emergency situation an officer deemed it necessary and prudent to shoot at a moving vehicle or bypass the force continuum, do you actually think they're going to care about your specific reasons for taking the appropriate action? Hell no they won't care. If this metro ordinance becomes codified, they will use it as a way to file criminal charges against you. Even though it's just a local ordinance and not KRS, they will still try to enforce it to make an example out of you. Just another means for them to pacify the angry protesters and their leftist anti-police friends. The FOP and LMPD's top administrative staff need to join together and fight this with everything they have. The democrats on the metro council have made it abundantly clear that they despise our officers. Rather than try to help us better serve the community, they are trying to hinder us by making our job more difficult and less safe than it is already.

You can always rely on councilmen like Hollander and Coan to come up with bright ideas handed to him by woke white leftist activists that spent 12 years in college for a 4 year degree. The kind who change their names from Karen to Karyn, have green or purple half-shaved heads and nose rings, and who think killing cows is murder but killing a baby after 8 months of pregnancy is womens rights.

They think officers should be forced to answer questions immediately after an incident and that they shouldn't be entitled to know anything about the evidence before being interrogated. The guaranteed reaction of officers and their attorneys to such a draconian rule would be to tell PIU "we're not talking". Imagine what happens when no officer anywhere is willing to talk to PIU about anything. They could even do the same to PSU and dare command to fire everyone on the department. That's not likely when they can't even fill the vacant spots as quickly as people leave.

They're all so obsessed with appeasing the pro-criminal west end and their communist friends that they're ignoring the all-time record high homicides or the fact that Louisville is one of the most deadly cities of its size in the USA thanks to criminals running amok here.

Well. Anyone dumb enough to not believe Fischers slimy hands are all over this is a fool. He wanted Elliott Avenue taken over by the city so he and his pals could profit. Anyone with any sense knows the scam as city agencies were heavily involved. Sadly it was the catalyst for a terrible tragedy. Part of the reason a settlement was reached so quickly to keep Taylor's attorneys from pushing further. Now what Metro council???? Or are some of them dirty with this one.

How long will the weak ineffective gutless metro council continue on with this charade?

Council: "Release the documents"

O'Connell & Fischer: "F__k you"

Council: "No, we really mean it. Release the documents"

O'Connell & Fischer: "Here's a few. F__k you, you're not getting the rest"

Council "Hey news media, they're not releasing all the documents!!!!"

O'Connell & Fischer: "F__k the media, too. Sue us."

Judge: "Release the documents!"

O'Connell & Fischer: "Do you really mean it, judge? We appeal your decision."

Judge: "Yes, release the documents"

O'Connell & Fischer: "I don't think you're serious about that."

Council: "See, news media, they still won't release them"

O'Connell & Fischer: "LOL, losers"

Here's Attica Scott hailed by a big new york magazine as a change-agent within the democrat party. The woman's who always seems to be hanging around when somebody tries to burn down a library like a month ago or when a protestors fires shots at Trump supporters like last weekend.

If this is the future of the democrat party that the wealthy east coast election-financing democrats want, then it has no future except as a crime syndicate and a terror group.

She will be a lieutenant by the end of the year, and for what? Asking questions. Heck, we all know how inexperienced most of PIU is.

"Monday morning, Major Kim Burbrink was administratively reassigned based on (the) chief's initiated professional standards investigation. We cannot discuss the details of this investigation. Lt. D. Thompson will be serving as the acting commander of the Criminal Interdiction Division in Major Burbrink's absence."

Libtards always look to big government to solve all problems for them. They forget that most of the problems at LMPD were created by the democrats they've been electing into office. They think they deserve better after keeping pay at 2005 levels, cutting healthcare benefits, cutting retirement benefits, directing his chief to make police stand down against the gangs and major drug trafficking organizations, directing his public safety director to make police stand down against rioters, and generally making LMPD a place nobody wants to work.

The federal government pays its investigators 2 to 3 times more in salary to do generally easier jobs involving far less danger than LMPD pays detectives. An agent makes more than a major does to lock people up for fraud weekdays on dayshift, while a homicide detective gets paid about half to go after murderous street gang members at all hours of the night on weekends. It doesn't take a genius to figure out who'll get a lot more people applying or staying after they're hired. Pay LMPD that much and a lot of the problems will go away too.

The west end just keeps getting worse. There's absolutely no chance this group is ever going to challenge any armed criminal, especially not a street gang who'd serve them up for dinner to possums and raccoons until a garbageman called police a few days later. What they have already begun doing is trying to intimidate law enforcement, as laid our by the NFAC earlier this year.

The people down there are 80% sheep who allow criminals and radicals to ruin their neighborhoods and lives without questioning any of it. If there were armed gang members shooting people and selling dope on the street in the "redneck" south end, I have little doubt they'd get shot dead within a few days by vigilantes. Instead, the west end's vigilantes get mad about the people trying to arrest the murderers.

It's too bad the west end's killers, robbers, car jackers and drug dealers do crime all over town and even kill children, or it would be tempting to just let them create their own private hell like they want.

The Metro Council says they have to sign off on the new contract for it to be valid and supposedly most of them aren't going to agree to it. The County Attorney staff, in their usual incompetent style, agree with the metro council that they can veto the contract signed by the Mayor. Unfortunately for them, the law at KRS 67C. 414 is crystal clear that once it's signed by the Mayor it's a valid enforceable contract. There's no publication even required after it's signed and the Metro Council lacks standing to even file a suit regarding the contract, although any FOP member covered by the contract can sue for a contract violation. KRS says it is the exclusive method of doing a police contract, which pre-empts and nullifies any contradictory metro council ordinances.

"An agreement between the consolidated local government and a labor organization shall be valid and enforced under its terms when entered into in accordance with the provisions of this section and SIGNED BY THE MAYOR of the consolidated local government or the mayor's representative. NO PUBLICATION thereof shall be required to make it effective. The procedure for the making of an agreement between a consolidated local government and a labor organization provided by this section shall be THE EXCLUSIVE METHOD of making a valid agreement for police officers represented by a labor organization.

suits for violation of agreements between a consolidated local government and a labor organization representing police officers may be brought by THE PARTIES TO THE AGREEMENT in the Circuit Court of the consolidated local government.

Even if the FOP lawyers choose to not challenge O'Connell's perpetually incompetent failed ambulance chasers, it won't stop officers from being able to sue to enforce the contract.

Better to have it than nothing at all, even if it requires a court fight. Most of the Metro Council hates police and isn't going to do anything but screw over officers to appease their criminal constituents.

It's a good thing that Chris 2X is reporting homicide numbers since the administration won't allow LMPD to routinely publicize those anymore. A reporter should ask Fischer and Hess why that is.

This year will have the most homicides in the entire history of Jefferson County. That's a direct result of bad Metro leadership and weak-on-crime liberal lawyers in the judge's chambers and prosecutor's offices.

"Shooting and homicide reports for the month of October continue to set record-level numbers, according to a local community activist. Christopher 2X, executive director of the Christopher 2X Game Changers non-profit organization, said that new numbers provided by Louisville Metro Police's Homicide division shows a continuing trend of record-breaking gun violence. In the month of October, there were 15 additional homicides reported, and 63 people hit with non-lethal gunfire. There have been a total of 140 homicides as of October this year based on LMPD Homicide data, 23 more than the previous record set in 2016 with 117 homicides."

What happens when a chief in a city under a democrat regime ignores a stand down order and charges a democrat he's not supposed to charge? He gets fired

Democrats have corrupted law enforcement in every city they control, including local, state and federal agencies. Socialist democrats can't be trusted to uphold the law and should never hold positions of trust. When they do, you get a situation like Venezuela.

The "Who is Responsible for Corruption in Louisville" organizational chart has been updated to add those most responsible for the other people even having jobs:

The Democrat voters of Louisville.

Breonna Taylor would be alive today if Democrats weren't running LMPD. There's no chance that an ice cream dispensing administrative Major with no specialized unit leadership experience would have been put in charge of major crimes in a Republican-run department. Democrats always put friends and family in spots they aren't suited for. Personal and political loyalty is all that matters to an in-crowd Democrat clique like the ones running LMPD from the start.

Fischer and company love to sneak around and do things that don't make any sense just to see if they can get away with it, but they never needed an agreement with KSP to investigate LMPD shootings. KSP is the state-wide police and they don't need anyone's permission to investigate a crime by a law enforcement agency any more than the FBI does. They could even investigate FBI agents or anybody else if they shoot somebody in Kentucky. The only exception to that is military personnel on a military reservation outside of state court criminal case jurisdiction.

The agreement was about getting KSP's detectives to agree to routinely investigate in Louisville. They never showed much interest in doing anything here but grant money speed traps and and commercial vehicle enforcement.

Besides COVID, murders are the real public health crisis in Louisville. Racism is not a public health crisis. Fischer used that because the democrat political base is trained like Pavlov's dogs to salivate and forget about their dangerous gang-infested neighborhoods whenever the word "racism" is mentioned. Hmmm, right at your target? That's not a warning shot. And this might have been a no knock warrant, but it wasn't executed as one. Walker himself said they kept asking who it was. Beijing Biden Bows to China

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/biden-appointees-are-weak-on-china-opinion/ar-BB1bWxz5

Biden's cabinet nominees--all with a history of appeasing adversaries around the world--are part of the strand of foreign policy elites who are more interested in placating the chattering classes in D.C., Davos and Brussels than in actually representing the American people. They exist in a bubble of group-thinkers who advocate the old, broken approaches to policy that cower to the interests of dictators like Castro, Maduro, Khamenei and Xi.

Biden has railed against President Trump's groundbreaking "America-first" foreign policy. Career politicians like Joe Biden have rolled over and allowed Communist China to take advantage of Americans for decades.

As could have been easily predicted, charges dropped and lawsuit filed. Even if some criminal points out somebody as a co-conspirator, if that's all you have, you don't have enough to immediately use force to get their ID. You may have enough reasonable suspicion to detain him until he tells you who he is. If he's not walking away, then there's no rush to put the cuffs on or transport him to get his prints run through the system.

It's best not to put too much trust in the word of a common criminal. The prosecutor won't back you up, as this incident proves.

What has Andy Beshear accomplished since he became governor other than demonstrating his ability to read public health statistics? He spends so much time auditioning to be a county health department spokesman that he can't even get his people to fix the glitch in the unemployment system. He did nothing for Louisville in the riots except tell the national guard and KSP to stand down when the angry crazy marxists complained they were being arrested for breaking the law.

All you people who voted in this incompetent daddy's boy because you believed he would save the retirement system, which he hasn't, should slap yourselves in the face a few times.

They're claiming this statue was smashed by racists, but fat chance of any white racists going to violent downtown Oakland, CA to mess with a statue. Far more likely it was one of the same black masked druggies or the lost generation of urban minority youth who the democrats cheer when they smash the "racist statues".

Silly democrats, you can't just turn the stupid people who you empowered with police stand-downs off when it's convenient for you. When you lie with dogs, you end up with fleas.

A unanimous decision on the next chief, so they must be at the high-end of mediocre.

No matter how good they are, Fischer, Hess and the metro council will turn them into someone closely resembling Steve Conrad in all ways but physical appearance within a few months.

This is why you don't give copies of letters to the Mayor's office unless you want them leaked to the media by one of his chinless aides.

They didn't leak Cosgrove's because they know it's weak and will be reversed eventually. They'll use his reinstatement as a pretext for paying BLM to get back out on the streets to get out the vote for next election.

Paid riots: Reason #22 that Democrats are a crime syndicate.
