Agree. Timing is suspect as hell. Fischer wanting it to go away to keep from getting more exposure in him and his cronies and their neighborhood development plans. The plan that was the catalyst for this and would enrich them at the expense of taxpayers and the community. He does not give a damn about the West end or the black community not any poor community white and black. Drive through the area West of 15th street and you will see NOTHING has been structurally changed since he has been in office, then again Abramson was just as bad, but gotten worse since he arrived. He escapes it again with this settlement and places blame on LMPD a department he has his fingerprints all over. We are stuck and we will not see our glorious metro council do shitz about it either as they will prove their politics is more important than the health of our city. Hollander, Coan, Flood, Sexton- Smith, will lead the charge to see to that. Pure idiocy and their true colors will show as they back Fischer who they know has destroyed a city and police departmemt. We can only hope a true non political no-partisan real leader steps up in about a year from now to announce they will fight for our city.
