Having no idea who they are, I'd be willing to wage a $1,000 bet this is both gang and narcotics related. LMPD, DEA and the FBI in Louisville never handled gang crime very well. In fact, few of them have any idea how to do violent street gang enforcement, which explains most of the increase in homicides. It's not something you learn to do well from people who never did it well or who have transitioned to counting the days until retirement.

When you see then locking up dozens of gang members at a time every month and naming the gangs on TV with the guns stacked to the ceiling, then we'll know something has changed for the better. Until then, expect more of these news articles.
