They have the right to remain silent, but the Metro Council has the power to restructure LMPD and withhold money from LMPD as they stay silent. The ball is in the Metro Council's court now. The Republicans have decided it's time to take action. The Democrats are still trying to delay or derail anything from being done, since Fischer is their guy and part of their club.

If the people of Louisville want to improve how LMPD performs its duties, then they can simply stop voting for the same old corrupted self-serving idiots.

The so-called Criminal Interdiction unit has been a mess for a long time now. Burbrink inherited it and was being micromanaged by command. They were neutered years ago when they were under other names. They spent a few years pretending that LMINTEL existed when it was just on paper. Nobody was doing anything but minor drug busts just like those they were doing on the night of the Taylor raid. That's all Conrad wanted them to do because he and the Mayor feared the possibility of shootouts occurring, which sometimes happens when you try to arrest mid-level and up organized criminals.

Conrad got rid of all the experienced detectives a few years after he showed up in Louisville. A few years later he got rid of the flex units because the underperforming time stealer unit didn't like seeing a division flex platoon outshining them with a bigger bust than they'd done that year.

Unfortunately she will be a mediocre micro-managed minion until she retires or the whole command staff above her get fired and replaced by someone competent. That's why people regularly leave LMPD at 20 years, days if not before.
