The real reason Mike O'Connell is letting felonies be turned into misdemeanors is that he furloughed 47 of his people in May and all the ones left behind do is take whatever the defense attorneys offer. His office is overwhelmed by the amount of civil suits against Metro. The commonwealth attorney's office is in only slightly better shape. The state Attorney General should open up his own special prosecutor office on a permanent basis in this county and give them a few dozen investigators. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2020/07/17/daniel-cameron-protesters-felony-charges-dropped-jefferson-co-attorney/5460397002/
