When you say "catch fleas" you mean she should have expected to be shot 8 times by police firing wildly in her direction without a clear target while she was unarmed.

By the same token, police who lack good judgement who are out doing midnight no knock warrants without announcing themselves or letting SWAT handle it can expect to be shot and killed one day. PIU may try their best but there's little to no chance of the shooter being convicted of shooting at the officers in a state with laws like ours and a public that won't sympathize with this.

Having the legal authority does not make it a good tactical decision. This unit f--ked up and will suffer the consequences in court. I don't feel sorry for them and neither should you. Assume that one day an officer will f--k up similarly and shoot one of your relatives dead at an incorrect address. Someone like you will no doubt call critics of that action "police haters".
