I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Ofc. Harris wasn't being "compassionate" when she shot the clown in the leg. More than likely, she just missed where she was aiming. Just so you know, Brad (her brother) got himself carved up a bit when he fought with her. He's a decent sized guy, and probably figured he could take her down without getting hurt. Turns out he STILL got cut...go figure. Oh, and for those armchair quarterbacks/internet commandos out there, you shouldn't bring a knife to a gun fight.

EVERY agency I've heard of (including the FBI) considers a knife to be deadly force. Guess what? Deadly force is to be met with deadly force. At least, that's the force scale that EVERY agency I've ever heard of uses. And don't start with the "If only she had a Taser" crap. The only time a Taser should be deployed against someone with a knife is if:

1) You have room to manueuver (i.e. it's not in a crowded apartment room; maybe in a parking lot)

2) You have another officer providing cover with lethal force in case the Taser doesn't work, or isn't deployed correctly (officer misses, etc)

Here's a simple way to avoid an officer shooting at you:

Don't put them in a situation where they have to....

Knife + physical attack on officer = dead suspect

Darwin is alive and well in Louisville....it's just sad that so many stupid people were/are allowed to reproduce.

When the person was shot 11 or 12 times.....he was still coming after the officers, this woman was subdued after 1. Officers are trained to take care of the threat, and keep firing until you eliminate the threat. That's why the person was shot so many times. Don't fight the police or don't do the crimes, and you will not have to worry about being shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Period.
