Citing budget cuts, LMPD will no longer provide crossing guards to some Louisville schools |

It is an absolute mess. But really, there is no reason why JCPS and the private schools can't employ their own school crossing guards. There's nothing about it that really should require an LMPD traffic guard or a sworn police officer to be present. On the funny side, there was some dumb Anchorage resident on the news complaining that it's too dangerous because motorists are using KY Highway 146 as a "cut through". Hey lady... it's called a state highway, what did you expect people to use it for???

Fischer came into office with delusions of grandeur. He wanted to be the Mayor who turned Louisville into another Chicago. Unfortunately, he succeeded. Chicago is extremely dangerous and generally sucks and now so does Louisville. You know things are bad when federal agencies decided they had to take over Narcotics and even the 9th mobile. It leaves more time for the Chief to cry crocodile tears about about the inherent evils of proactive policing at community events for the Mayor.
