LMPD :: Louisville Metro Police Department

It takes a lot for a Chief to actually get fired because of the scrutiny it draws from the council. The Mayor doesn't have the power to control what the Chief does except where it requires approval through the budget and a few other things. Anyone who was around before Metro remembers when both departments has much better chiefs. They worked for political thug-hugging administrations like Armstrong and Abramson. Even Hamilton never bowed down for political whims anywhere nearly as much as Conrad.
